Mougins British International School (Open morning March 16-th)

Mougins School offers an anglophone programme to students of 3 to 18 years of age, based on the English National Curriculum.

Located in the heart of Sophia-Antipolis, Mougins School offers the excellent British school programme for students ages 3 to 18, enhanced by a pedagogy that develops methodology, collaborative learning, critical and creative thinking.

All lessons are taught in English, and the school welcomes over 500 children from over 30 nationalities. Since 1964, the school boasts a state-of-the-art, green, landscaped campus with peaceful shaded spots, as well as a theatre, a synthetic football pitch, sports court for games, science laboratories, a library, a canteen with an outdoor terrace, and the Millennium Building for classrooms and administration.

Mougins School’s Early Learning Centre follows the English Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum comprising Nursery and Reception classes, ideally preparing the children for Key Stage 1. In the Primary Section, our curriculum is based upon the English National Curriculum and students make excellent progress in oral comprehension and expression, literacy, numeracy and social skills.

Mougins School’s Secondary Section provides a fantastic environment for fulfilling academic potential for students, where they are supported closely by teachers and tutors in preparation for their IGCSE and A-Level examinations. They are encouraged to be keen, enthusiastic, independent learners and are given lots of opportunities to develop their interpersonal skills by working and cooperating with others. A-level qualifications are recognised throughout the world , and Mougins students are able to apply to universities worldwide with these qualifications. Over the years, our alumni have acquired college and university places at leading institutions both nationally and globally in a wide range of both academic and vocational education programmes.

Through a broad and balanced curriculum that goes beyond the purely academic, students engage with a deeper experience of the world. For example, the school runs a ‘Thrive’ programme in parallel to its outstanding Primary and Secondary curriculum. Designed to encourage students to develop passions and interests that exist outside of traditional academics, the school offers enriching activities linked to themes of The Self, The Thinker, The Creative and The Community. Activities include LEGO® Education robotics, creative writing, justice and the law, music ensembles, yoga and more.

Education is a journey and learning is a nonlinear process so through effort, perseverance and the embracing of challenges, the school’s learners will go on to positively shape the lives of themselves, others and the world around them.
